Happy Trails for Kids provides an exciting and fun-filled overnight camp experience for children in the foster care system.

Youth ages 7 – 17 are invited to spend a week in the great outdoors hiking, canoeing, rock-climbing, dancing, singing silly songs by a campfire, star gazing, and much more!

By taking part in camp activities with other children in foster care, our campers can escape the stress and loneliness of their circumstances, and can focus on being kids. Happy Trails Camp is all about joy and friendship and memories designed to last a lifetime. View our sample schedule of events here.

Under the supervision of our experienced Camp Director, we have a team of trained and enthusiastic counselors, as well as a nurse who is available on-site. The majority of our camp counselors are former foster youth, which provides our campers with the unique opportunity of being mentored by young adults who can relate to and address their problems and fears. Read more about our staff here.

Through a partnership with the Felix Organization, we have expanded our camping program to include Winter Camp, and we recently added overnight tent camping for our older youth participants.

Our programming extends well beyond camping, and maintaining a consistent and active presence in the lives of the campers is critical to our model. Our year-round educational, cultural, outdoor and social programming activities engage, and expose, youth to experiences that they might not otherwise have. Finally, we have several older youth programs available for our teenage campers.  Even when our campers reach 18 and beyond, they can still remain in the Happy Trails family as summer camp counselors!
